                           Instructor’s Personal Statement

In my many years as a physical therapist, I have observed how my profession has evolved, as well as the way healthcare in general is delivered and paid for. As a result, I decided to continue my education and pursue certification as an Acupressure Practitioner and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Development and Adult Education. My goals are to:

• Develop and teach integrative healthcare courses.
• Help people to become more responsible for their own wellness and 

           healthcare.

• Create incentive programs for healthcare systems and medical insurance 

           plans.

To achieve these goals I created HealthPoints to be a healthcare education business and this web site to be its “Web Resource”. I hope that by providing information about and resources for my courses, site visitors will be encouraged to participate. It is also my hope that employers and medical insurance companies will adopt the HealthPoints incentive plan as a way to promote better health for their enrollees and help reduce the escalating costs of healthcare and medical insurance. My plan for participants has three parts:

• Attend integrative healthcare education classes
• Obtain yearly health screenings
• Receive financial incentives for staying well
             

The techniques and recommendations in the courses are of a general nature.
